Adobe wins Emmy for Flash

Adobe has been awarded an Emmy for its Flash Video technology, emulating Apple and Sony. The US National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences said that the award recognises the software's pivotal role in bringing television content to the Internet. ARM unveils new chip design

Cambridge-based ARM has introduced a new processor that is expected to power a new generation of mobile phones. The company claims that the new Cortext-A8 can deliver up to 2000 DMips and for the first time puts a mobile phone chip in the same league as a desktop processor. In contrast, the current Arm-9 processor that is found in the majority of today's mid-range phones can only manage around 300DMips. ...more

December brings seven Microsoft security bulletins

Microsoft has announced seven bulletins in its monthly security update affecting Windows, IE, Outlook Express and Visual Studio. This is one more than it projected last week, having added a fix for a buffer overflow issue in a Windows Media file format.
