New service provides property values online

The Land Register Online service has been officially launched today to provide fuller access to property information on the Web. As well as letting people satisfy their curiosity about what their neighbours may have paid for their properties, the service should also enable potential homebuyers to gain an objective value of their targets. Apple revises battery recall list

Apple has revised its list of PowerBook and iBook batteries that are eligible for replacement under the recall programme announced last week. The company now lists a narrower range of 12in iBook and 15in PowerBook batteries. iBook batteries with serial numbers starting in the range 6C519 to 6C552 are only eligible if they end with S9WA, S9WC or S9WD; 15in PowerBook battery numbers starting with 6N530 to 6N551 must end with THTA, THTB or THTC and those starting with 6N601 must end with THTC. ...more

Surfers to fall foul of ISPs' 'unlimited' limits

The gluttonous data appetites of Internet users looking to take advantage of new video on demand and Internet TV services offered by ISPs may find themselves punished because of it, according to service comparison company SimplySwitch. SimplySwitch chief executive Karen Darby said that many ISPs claim they offer 'unlimited' monthly downloads but in the small print of their contract put in 'fair usage' terms conditions that allow them to throttle bandwidths or terminate the service completely when demand is heavy.
