BT pleas for customers

Having spent ?15m on opening up the local exchanges, BT has stated that demand for space in them has "evaporated". Of the 40 operators that initially wanted access, only nine are still active, and of the 2,100 exchanges originally in demand, only 202 places have been taken up. Pipex Wireless details UK's first WiMAX service

Pipex Wireless has confirmed its first deployment of WiMAX in the UK with Intel. As we reported last month, Milton Keynes will become the first major location with blanket WiMax coverage. Dell to build Opteron-based servers?

Is Dell about to break its long-established exclusive link with Intel and take on board AMD processors? The latest speculation on this long-running topic comes courtesy of the financial investment website Motley Fool - AMD and Dell at Last?. It quotes a research Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Tai Nguyen, which says that Dell is designing two new dual-processor machines based upon AMD's Opteron server processor.
