Storage company EMC is close to finalising the acquisition of Retrospect-developer Dantz SearchStorage.com reports that if the bid is successful, EMC will be able to offer a complete backup and storage system for SMBs. BBC to offer legal free downloads of TV shows

The BBC is to allow British online users to legally download TV and radio programmes from the Internet up to seven days after their transmission. The announcement was made by Mark Thompson, the BBC Director General, in a speech at the Edinburgh Festival over the weekend. Millions of inboxes around the world may have been hit by a malicious Trojan horse that disables anti-virus software, SophosLabs has announced.
