Fifteen new ADSL exchanges confirmed

BT has begun enabling a further 15 exchanges with ADSL. This will bring the total number of exchanges upgraded since BT began its registration scheme to 33. Time Warner bares teeth at FTC condition

Time Warner and AOL are prepared to sue to take the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to court over its harsh condition to the AOL/Time Warner merger: that Time Warner makes its news and entertainment content available to rivals. USA Today reports that the companies are ready to go to court to ensure their privilege to Time Warner's content, even at the risk of delaying approval to the merger, while the FTC is equally vehement that it will sue the companies and block the deal if it doesn't get the concessions it feels necessary to preserve competition. The FTC is also considering Time Warner's agreement to open up its high speed cable network to competitors. ...more

Computer Aid bids for eBay support

The charity Computer Aid International is teaming up with eBay to boost the donations of computer equipment to the developing world. The scheme will enable sellers to donate a percentage of money made through sales on eBay to Computer Aid.
