Equal-access telecoms board open for business

Independent body to oversee fair access to BT networks is launched four months ahead of schedule The chairman of the Equality of Access Board (EAB) had already been appointed - Carl Symon, a BT Group non-executive director who is the chairman. He will be joined by Sally Davis, BT's chief portfolio officer, and three independent members. These are Sir Bryan Carsberg (an accounting expert who was a former Director General of Oftel from 1984 to 1992), Stephen Pettit (a non-executive director of National Grid, National Air Traffic Services and Halma) and Dr Peter Radley (the Chair of the IEE Communications Sector Panel and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering). ...more

Intel Corporation has released its next generation of C++ and Fortran compilers for its whole range of processors. The company claims that it provides a single environment for development for Itanium, Xeon, Pentium and Intel Personal Internet Client Architecture for mobile phones and PDAs.
