Windows source code leaked onto the Internet

The tightly guarded source code for the Windows operating system has been leaked onto the internet, it has been revealed. The code is said to consist of parts of the Windows 2000 and Windows NT versions of the OS. Microsoft is opening a new campaign to win over wavering software developers to Windows. The new initiative known as NXT is targeted at ISVs with software solutions turning over $5 million in revenue who are ready to migrate to, or work cross-platform with, a Microsoft operating system or database. BT launches faster dial-up

BT has launched the faster dial-up Internet service that it has been trialling for some months. BT Midband provides a 128k connection, more than twice the speed of standard 56k dial-up, but still someway short of the maximum 512k speed of most ADSL broadband services. Advantages over a 56k connection, other than speed, include the ability to make a phone call whilst online - although the speed will drop to 64k - and a faster connection speed - about four seconds compared to 30 seconds. ...more
