Mobile operators hit by handset faults

One in seven of the 18 million mobiles sold in the UK last year developed a fault, according to a Which? survey. The consumer watchdog reports that 3 is the worst offender; of its 50 surveyed customers, a third said that they had had a problem with their handsets in the first 12 months. Dell is to push further into the consumer space, selling Dell-branded LCD TVs and an iPod-style digital music player (supported with an online music service), as well as projectors and PDAs. Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive officer, said: 'By introducing high-performing consumer electronics products that closely integrate with the computer, we are delivering what is most important to consumers - content and experience - at a better value than they're currently getting.' At its SunNetwork 2003 Conference in Berlin, Sun has announced a technology preview release of Sun Java Studio Creator. Formerly code-named Project Rave, this is claimed to be an easy-to-use environment for Java development.
