1GHz notebooks arrive

Intel released its 1GHz mobile Pentium III processors today and you can already buy notebooks based on the new chip in the UK. Dell also has just announced a new Inspiron, the 8000 (pictured), which runs at 1GHz and includes a 32Mb ATI graphics card and a combination DVD/CD-RW drive. Hail a cab by phone

The company that makes London's black cabs has unveiled a new service that allows you to hail the nearest taxi through your mobile phone. Zingo, as the service is known, matches your location to the nearest cab, and then directs your call direct to the driver. GTA: San Andreas guns for Xbox and PCs

The controversial video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be coming to Xbox and PCs in 2005, its publisher Rockstar Games has announced. Already a best-seller on Sony's PlayStation 2- it was straight in at number one in the UK games chart at the end of October - the havoc-creating game will be heading to Microsoft's rival Xbox console and PC platforms.
