Vista to create 50,000 EU jobs

Microsoft's new Vista operating system will add 50,000 new jobs to six countries in the EU next year. The study, commissioned by Microsoft, studied the effect of the Vista launch in the UK, France, Germany Denmark, Poland and Spain who represent more than two thirds of the EU's IT spend. IBM is taking Amazon to court. Big Blue has filed two patent infringement lawsuits against Amazon, relating to the technology used by its online sales service. Canon unveils PIXMA range of colour inkjets

Canon is claiming to have scaled new heights in printing advances with its latest inkjets. The company says the PIXMA iP5000 squirts out ink droplets at a tiny 1 picolitre in size and can create prints of 9600 x 2400dpi resolution. The print heads have also been improved to a level close to the integrated circuits used at professional print labs using technology it refers to as FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering). ...more
