Mac sales enjoy iPod effect

Two Apple-watching US investment companies and Apple watchers have reported that, finally, Mac sales are starting to enjoy an iPod effect. Earlier this week Apple's share price rose by more than 10 per cent after a Piper Jaffray survey found that six per cent of PC-owning iPod users have now switched with another seven per cent planning to do so. IBM expands its hardware recycling scheme to the UK

IBM has expanded its Asset Recovery Solutions (ARS) scheme to the UK. The ARS programme offers companies the chance to sell their old kit to IBM at 'current market values'. The offer extends not only to old IBM hardware but equipment from other manufacturers too. ...more

Intel talks business on Centrino Pro

At a 'working breakfast' in the City of London this morning, Intel officially launched Centrino Pro, the enterprise-orientated implementation of the Santa Rosa platform. The business-themed event, aimed at IT managers, focused on the security and manageability features which distinguish Centrino Pro from Santa Rosa's domestic implementation (known as Centrino Duo).
