Kazaa fights back with lawsuit against the RIAA

The owner of the Kazaa P2P file sharing software has filed a lawsuit against the RIAA, the body that represents the major US record labels, and movie studios, accusing them of using an unauthorised version of Kazaa known as Kazaa Lite. Sharman Networks files the suit on Monday, alleging that the RIAA and the studios violated its copyright by using Kazaa Lite. OS X to get Bluetooth support

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has announced that the company will soon be releasing the first technology preview of its Bluetooth software for Mac OS X. Bluetooth is a wireless communications standard rapidly gaining acceptance in the mobile phone and PDA markets (Palm, for example, having recently announced a Bluetooth expansion card for its range of handhelds). Spring IDF 2006: Intel unveils faster memory

Intel revealed more information on its upcoming memory standards at IDF. DDR2-800 is set to be released in the second half of 2006, with the successors to the current mid-range 945 chipset being the first Intel products to support the new standard. The 945 will be replaced by the 965P and G chipsets for 'Digital Home' systems, and by the 965Q and 963Q for 'Digital Office' users. ...more

Microsoft completes Sybari acquisition

Microsoft has axed Sybari's support for its Unix and Linux products upon completion of its acquisition. Upon announcing the takeover in February, Microsoft had said that this was its intention and says it will continue to support customers of the Linux and Unix versions of Sybari's Antigen, although it will no longer sell them. 'Customers have told us they want powerful security solutions for the enterprise to help protect their messaging and collaboration servers from viruses, worms and spam,' said Mike Nash, corporate vice president of the Security Business & Technology Unit. ...more
