Apple boosts recycling in the US

Apple has announced an expansion of its recycling programme for US customers by offering free take-back and recycling with the purchase of a Mac from June 2006. US customers who buy a new Mac direct from Apple will receive free shipping and 'environmentally friendly' disposal of their old computer as part of the Apple Recycling programme. Big Brother was the UK's number one search term for the second month running, according to Google's July figures. The 'reality' TV show - won by someone called Cameron, apparently - pipped Christina Aguilera to the top spot, the singer having not even made the top ten in June. The government has appointed Douglas Alexander, MP for Paisley South, as the new e-minister. Alexander replaces Patricia Hewitt, who has been promoted to Trade and Industry secretary. Microsoft and Nvidia have settled their dispute over costs and pricing for the Xbox. The heart of the dispute involved the pricing of components within the Xbox, with Microsoft being keen to drive costs down to make its console more competitive but Nvidia being squeezed on its margins.
