IPTV companies club on single standards push

Companies that provide TV over the Internet (IPTV) joined forces on Monday to set a single global standard so that systems can work together. The Open IPTV Forum is backed by companies including Ericsson, Matsushita's Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Siemens AG, Sony, AT&T, Telecom Italia and France Telecom. Mozilla updates the Thunderbird email client

The Mozilla Organisation has released an update for its fully-features email client, Thunderbird. In addition to a lengthy list of bug fixes, the update provides several new features, including: the ability to have several email addresses going into the same account; Secure Password Authentication using a new cross-platform NTLM authentication mechanism for POP3 and SMTP; a new Palm Sync address book conduit; and an improved Spell Checker. New Eudora takes on spam

Qualcomm has released a new version of its Eudora email software including a new, intelligent anti-spam component. SpamWatch comprises several tools designed to work 'right out of the box'.
