The decision to remove Mr Hewlett comes on the back of Hewlett filing a lawsuit on 28 March against HP alleging that the company misinformed HP shareholders over the Compaq merger and threatened Deutsche Bank with withholding future business unless the bank switched its vote in favour of the merger.
