Google adds coupons to Maps

Google has come up with a new way of adding value to its local maps services by allowing businesses to add printable coupons to the service which are redeemable by the customers when they buy a product. The service could provide businesses with another way of attracting and retaining new customers by offering new promotions almost in real-time as well as making Google maps a more attractive local search service. AllofMP3 speaks out against victimisation by music industry

AllofMP3.com has stepped up its media offensive, telling an online press conference that it is a legitimate, tax-paying business. Vadim Mamotin, director general of Mediaservices, which runs the Russian digital music service, said that in addition to contributing to the state coffers, it also pays 15 per cent of every sale to the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society, a rights collecting agency. ...more

Intel launches last single core Xeon

In an effort to regain some of the ground lost to AMD's Opteron processor, Intel is planning a flurry of announcements over the coming weeks and months that will totally overhaul the Xeon range of server processors. The company has now released its last version of the single core Xeon and promises that the first of the new generation dual core chips code-named 'Paxville' will be available 'in the coming weeks'.
