Boeing gets green light for in-flight Net access

Boeing claims world's first approval for airborne, satellite-based broadband service. The US Federal Aviation Administration has officially granted certification to the in-flight 'Connexion by Boeing' system. The government has appointed Douglas Alexander, MP for Paisley South, as the new e-minister. Alexander replaces Patricia Hewitt, who has been promoted to Trade and Industry secretary. BT will use Vodafone's cellular network for mobile calls made using its revolutionary network-aware Bluephone. In an announcement today, Bill Morrow, CEO at Vodafone, described the tie-up as having 'huge attractions for both organisations.
