New Hackarmy Trojan plays on pictures of Osama Bin-Laden

A new virus that tempts users into visiting a website with the promise of images of the corpse of Osama Bin-Laden will result in a Trojan being downloaded to the visitor's computer, warns Sophos. Infections of the Hackarmy-A Trojan have been driven by messages posted to bulletin boards that claim CNN reporters discovered the Al-Quaida leader's hanged body earlier this week. Tablet PCs to hit their stride in 2005

Tablet PCs will have to wait until 2005 before they hit their stride, according to analysts. Industry analysts In-Stat/MDR reckon the cast of Microsoft and its hardware partners, such as Acer and HP, have achieved only partial success with the Tablet PC show, since its launch in October 2002. Intel eyes increased stake in Nvidia - report

Intel is considering increasing its stake in graphics technology company Nvidia, in order to counter the proposed merger of AMD and ATI, according to a report by Digitimes. The chip maker's share price rose by eight per cent on Wednesday on the back of speculation that it may attempt to acquire Nvidia. Nokia adds wireless authoring tools to GoLive

Nokia has released a wireless authoring module for Adobe GoLive 6 that allows GoLive users to create Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) Web content to be viewed on Nokia mobile phones. MMS content can contain audio, images and video in addition to text. According to Jouko Hayrynen, VP of Forum Nokia, 'The merging of rich media and wireless devices is a vital component of Nokia's strategy and new standards such as MMS mean mobile users will have access to increasingly richer personalised content regardless of time and place. ...more

Sober harvests child porn confession

A German child porn offender has handed himself in to the police after receiving an email sent by the Sober worm, which claimed to have been tracking the online activities of the recipient. The 20-year-old is now subject to criminal procedures after police searched his computer and found images of child porn as well as evidence that such images had been sent via email. The German Paderborn police said the effect of the Sober worm has additionally 'helped police with the clearing-up of several sexual crimes'. ...more
