Google in plan to scan and index some of the world's top libraries

Search engine Google has teamed up with some of the world's most prestigious libraries in a plan to put their entire contents - including their rarest books - online. Amongst the libraries included are Oxford University's Bodleian Library of 19th Century works, Harvard, Stanford, the University of Michigan and New York's Public Library. Nokia plans to steal back market with snazzy new phones

Mobile phone maker Nokia was in a bullish mood at its annual Nokia Connection conference today. The Finnish company unveiled five new phones and made some rosy predictions for the market over the rest of the year. Microsoft, McAfee fail to spot Vista viruses

Live OneCare 1.5, Microsoft's own anti-virus software, cannot fully protect Vista against viruses found in the wild, according to tests performed by an independent certification body. The tests carried out by Virus Bulletin - on 15 anti-virus products designed for the new OS - found that of all the products on trial, four failed to reach the standard required for its VB100 certification. ...more
