Microsoft to pay $180 million in Iowa settlement

An Iowa court has granted preliminary approval to the terms of the settlement of the Comes v Microsoft antitrust lawsuit. Judge Scott Rosenberg has approved the February settlement, in which Microsoft agreed to pay up to $179.95 million to individuals and businesses that purchased it operating systems and applications between May 1994 and June 2006. ...more

iPods get airborne as Zune launches below

Apple has announced that from next year six leading airlines will begin introducing integration between iPods and in-flight entertainment systems. Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United will begin offering their passengers iPod seat connections which power and charge their portable players during flight and allow the video content on their iPods to be viewed on the their seat back displays.
