Apple to release two phones in the New Year - analyst

Apple will release two mobile phone models in the first quarter of 2007, according to Prudential Equity Group analyst Jesse Tortora. Both will have iTunes support for music playback, while one will also have video capabilities, Tortora said in a note to investors. AMD wins move to access Intel docs for antitrust probe

AMD has won its battle in the US Supreme Court to allow the European Commission to request documents from arch-rival Intel as part of its anti-competition investigation. The Supreme Court ruled 7 to 1 that US law 'authorizes, but does not require, the District Court to provide discovery aid to AMD`. In 2000 AMD filed an antitrust complaint against Intel with the European Commission, alleging that Intel had violated European competition law. ...more

Microsoft to challenge Eolas patent

Microsoft has been given the go-ahead to make a fresh legal challenge to the Eolas patent. The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will hear Microsoft's argument that it invented the software technology described by patent, not the University of California and researcher Michael Doyle and their jointly-owned company, Eolas.
