Belgian police make arrest over iPod killing

Belgian police have arrested a 16-year old Pole in connection with the murder of Joe Van Holsbeeck, who was killed after refusing to hand over his iPod to two men. The arrest was made after another Polish teenager supplied investigators with the name and mobile number of the suspect. A second Polish man, 17, who police believe carried out the fatal stabbing is thought to have fled to his home country. ...more

Poland pulls the plug on European software patent law

Backing for software patents in the EU has collapsed following the Polish Government's announcement that it cannot support the current draft directive. he decision means that the draft has lost a majority in favour, and now falls short by 16 votes.
