Munich gets cold feet over Linux switch The City of Munich is stepping back from its planned Linux switch, citing potential legal and financial dangers posed by software patents. According to German news site heise online and other reports, the chief information officer of Munich, Wilhelm Hoegner, said that the LiMux project would make no further progress for the time being. The new range, comprised of the CM8060 and CM8050 colour devices, are the first examples of mainstream printers and multi-function printing devices available in Europe to use the Edgeline print head. It seems that not even our identities are safe anymore and a new report from the US Treasury Department reveals that ID theft is steadily on the increase with 617 cases reported in 2000, almost double that of 267 in the previous year.
