Suse Linux helps push Novell into the black

Novell's Linux acquisition is already paying dividends, pushing the company into the black. Revenues for Novell's fourth quarter ending 31 October, were $301mn, generating a net income of $13mn compared with revenues at $287mn and a net loss of $109mn of a year ago. iTunes pricing complaint referred to Europe

The Office of Fair Trading has handed a complaint about iTunes Music Store pricing in the UK over to the European Commission. The OFT's investigation was prompted by a complaint from Which? (formerly the Consumers' Association), which pointed out that downloads from iTMS in the UK are more expensive than from the German and French stores. Big Brother watches but we don't mind

People in the UK are far more in favour of CCTV cameras tracking criminals than speeding motorists, according to a new study. The poll of 2,016 UK adults by online research firm YouGov found that the majority (88 per cent) of the population are happy for CCTV to be used to fight crime. But only 58 per cent were in favour of monitoring car tax evaders, while 54 per cent thought it was right to its use against speeding offenders. ...more
