Sophos beefs up Anti-Virus

Security firm Sophos is upgrading its endpoint security solution with application control features. The upgrade allows enterprises to block applications such as peer-to-peer, VoIP and instant messaging clients full stop, or on a per user or per group basis. Nvu, an open source, cross-platform website authoring tool has been released, with the aim of providing the tools to create standards-based websites in a WYSIWYG environment, without resorting to code. Mandrake returns to the stock exchange

Mandrake has resumed trading on Euronext. The troubled Linux distributor regained its place on the pan-European Euronext stock exchange on Monday. Apple countersues Creative Technology

Apple has responded to Creative Technology's attempt to stop sales of iPods by countersuing the rival MP3 player maker. Apple claims that the US division of Singapore-based Creative has infringed four patents pertaining to portable music players.
