Dell confirms heat problems with OptiPlex GX280 SMT chassis

In response to reports stating several Dell desktop models introduced in the third quarter may have heat pipe thermal module issues, Dell stated that the issue was isolated to a specific version of the company's OptiPlex GX280 SMT chassis. According to Dell, the issue affected systems shipped from July to mid-September 2004, but only a small number of systems were affected.
