EU accuses Microsoft of 'abusive behaviour' in server market

The EU's Competition Commissioner has again threatened Microsoft with heavy fines for failing, in her opinion, to meet its obligations under the 2004 ruling that it must disclose details of protocols that would enable products from other companies to interoperate with its workgroup servers. Neelie Kroes renewed concerns were prompted by statistics that showed that Microsoft's share of server market has risen to 75 per cent. IBM touts email/messaging for 'deskless' employees

'Deskless' employees who so far have escaped the tyranny of email are to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. IBM has launched a new product Lotus Workplace Messaging, a Web-based system which gives staff who don't need a computer access to company email and messaging. Blu-ray nabs 70 per cent of high-def movie market

Blu-ray took 70 per cent of the market for high-definition movie titles in the first quarter of 2007, easily outselling the rival HD DVD format, according to figures just released by the trade magazine, Home Media.
