HP has designs on pro proofing market

Hewlett-Packard aims to capture a slice of the professional desktop proofing market with its new Designjet 10ps, 20ps and 50ps inkjet printers. The new Designjet models all handle oversize A3 media, use a six-colour printing process, and allow 'closed loop' calibration. Most importantly for its target market, the printers all ship with PostScript RIP software, making them one of the only inkjet printers able to handle professional DTP proofing tasks straight out of the box. ...more

Google brings in $806 million revenues in first quarterly earnings

In its first ever results as a public company, Google has announced that its revenues have doubled to $805.9 million for the quarter, a rise of 105 per cent on the same period a year ago. Despite the jump in revenue, actual income was only to $52 million from 2003's equivalent $20 million due to a previously announced one off payment to Yahoo! of $201 million to settle various patent disputes. ...more
