Update: Pressplay backs pressing CDs

Online music subscription service Pressplay has said it will allow the burning of downloaded files on to CDs. Pressplay, backed by Sony and Universal and also offering EMI's music catalogue among other labels', would be at a distinct advantage with this move over its rival MusicNet, backed by RealNetworks and the remaining major labels. Truant texting gets government backing

The government is giving a helping hand to schools with a bad truancy problem. It plans to give them cash to implement a system that will text, e-mail or call parents automatically if their child doesn't turn up. Nvidia announces Forceware software utilities

Nvidia Corporation has announced a new set of software tools offering new drivers and compilers, desktop management software, system management software and multimedia software. The suite of utilities, known as ForceWare, is said to work with all desktop and notebook PCs fitted with Nvidia GeForce graphics hardware.
