Microsoft to add Data Protection Server to Windows Server family

Microsoft has announced that it is to add a Data Protection Server to its Windows Server System. The product, which the company has slated to launch in the second half of 2005, is the company's first entry into the disk-based backup and recovery market The product is designed to operate with Server 2003, Windows Storage Server 2003 and Active Directory and is aimed at companies with between five and 49 servers to manage.
