BT sets 185 broadband dates

BT has announced its biggest batch of ADSL ready-for-service dates, with 185 exchanges to go online between August 2004 and June 2006. The dates and exchanges are as follows, although by June 2006 we hope that ADSL2 and other truly fast broadband technologies will be on the agenda. BT appoints new head of Retail division

Telco BT has announced that Ian Livingston has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of BT Retail. He replaces the outgoing CEO Pierre Danon who is leaving in February to join Cap Gemini. Livingston was previously Chief Financial Officer for BT Wholesale and prior to that was Financial Director at Dixons plc where he was heavily involved in the launch of Freeserve. ...more

ATI under financial investigation

ATI, the Canadian-based graphics specialists, is facing investigation by Canadian authorities over the reporting financial results and insider share dealing. It has been announced that the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has filed a Notice of Hearing and Statement of Allegations in relation to ATI. Apple France sued over iPod licensing refusal

Virgin Mega has filed a complaint with the French Competition Council alleging that Apple France has wrongfully refused to license the Fairplay digital rights management technology. Fairplay is used by Apple to control where songs sold through the iTunes Music Store can be played and copied. It is the only DRM technology supported by the iPod. ...more
