2GHz Pentium 4s race out of the stalls

Intel has officially launched 2GHz Pentium 4s and Dell has followed step with updates to its Precision workstations and Dimension and OptiPlex desktop ranges. Dell's Precision Workstations are aimed at professional users creating digital content creation or using detailed analysis applications. Annual Imagine Cup gets underway

Entries are being invited for this year's software design and development competition, the Imagine Cup, which carries a ?50,000 prize fund. Now in its third year, the Microsoft-sponsored programming competition has now gained backing from BT, Capgemini and the venture capitalists 3i. The top of the ELSPA games chart remain as log jammed as a London thoroughfare, with no movement in the top three and only some shuffling of places lower down. Security fears raised for new Bagle attack

F-Secure is warning that a Bagle attack could be imminent as a number of the URLs accessed by the viruses have been re-activated. The company says the URLs have been loaded with a new 188KB executable file, which computers currently infected by the Bagle virus will begin downloading. The new executable causes the infected machines to start pumping out emails with a new variant of the virus. ...more
