4GB DDR memory sticks in volume production

Samsung says its 1Gbit DDR memory is the first to receive Intel endorsement and is already in mass production in DIMMs of up to 4GB in capacity. The 4GB registered DIMMs will be produced for high-end machines - servers, workstations and so on - but even the humble desktop will see 2GB sticks, of the unbuffered variety, and SODIMMs for notebooks will also be produced to this capacity. Mobile phone industry agrees to block stolen phones

The mobile phone industry has signed up to a charter that should make stealing mobile phones a worthless crime. Network operators, handset manufacturers and high street stores have signed the charter to tackle mobile phone theft by blocking the use of handsets that are reported as stolen on mobile networks, launching educational and awareness campaigns, conducting research and regular monitoring of the problem. Sainsbury's enters mobile phone price wars

Sainsbury's is set to launch its Sainsbury's One mobile phone service today, which promises its users the lowest call charges for each call. Sainsbury's One will be offered to its Reward loyalty card-holding customers and operated over the BT Cellnet network.
