Wanadoo cuts the wires with a wireless ADSL router

Wanadoo has announced a wireless ADSL router it is calling the Livebox as the cornerstone of future services it intends to deliver over broadband. There's not that much to say about the box itself - it's a wireless ADSL router that looks a bit like a half-closed book and offers wired connections through two Ethernet ports and USB too. AOL and NTL in European negotiations

AOL is in talks with cable giant NTL to go into partnership across Europe. NTL has confirmed that it is in the very early stages of negotiation with AOL and it is thought any deal would involve AOL using NTL's Europe-wide cable network in exchange for AOL's content. The talks are reminiscent of the AOL/Time Warner deal, where the ISP successfully courted cable company Time Warner in order to get into broadband in the US. ...more
