Nintendo says it has sold 600,000 units of its Wii game console in the first eight days since its release in the Americas, as the company vies with rivals Sony and Microsoft for gamers' hearts and wallets. Treo gets a contract

mmO2 has been named as the carrier for Handspring's Treo range of communicators when it is launched this spring. Handspring's Treo 180 and 180g (the latter using the Graffiti input method) PDA-cum-GSM phones will be offered with an mmO2 tariff for around ?350 including VAT. Further details of the tariff are unclear at the time of writing, although mmO2 is the exclusive carrier within its territories (UK, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands), so whatever those details turn out to be, if you want a Treo, you'll have to sign up to them. ...more

Kaspersky Labs says more than 100,000 MyDoom-infected computers have been hit with the Doomjuice virus that slips in through the back door left open by the original infection. The Russian company says that it is likely the MyDoom and Doomjuice viruses were authored by the same hand, with the latter intended to cover the tracks of MyDoom - the most widespread virus ever and one perhaps drawing a lot more attention than the author would wish. ...more
