UK and US to wipe out Internet fraud

The UK and the US will work together to tackle Internet fraud, Trade and Industry secretary Stephen Byers has said. The minister said that the relevant bodies, including the Department of Trade and Industry and the Office of Fair Trading over here and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the US, would co-operate to tackle get-rich schemes, fake lotteries and other scams. Symantec blames yesterday's code for today's security flaws

Internet users are facing cyber attacks from flaws in software that are discovered at the rate of seven a day, according to Symantec's Internet Security Threat report for the latter half of 2003.
