JBuilder 5 should be available for June 2001, and the system features improved application server support and the full integration of XML (eXtensible Markup Language). LaCie has introduced a new DVD and CD duplicator capable of making up to five simultaneous disk copies. The metallic tower contains one 16x40x DVD/CD-ROM drive and five combined 4x DVD-RW and 16x CD-RW drives and automatically recognises the various formats. AMD to supply 26,000 processors to schools in China

AMD has signed a deal to supply 26,000 processors for PCs in schools in China. The deal with Chinese OEMs Dawning and Lenovo - the new owners of IBM's PC division - means AMD will supply Sempron chips to Lenovo Qitian M 6200M PCs and Opterons for the Dawning Tiankuo A Series i200-A servers. The eastern province of Hebei's Education Bureau is providing the demo site for the nationwide 'Long-Distance Education Project'. ...more
