Apple gets RAW with Aperture

Apple has introduced Aperture, a new application that it describes as the first all-in-one post production tool for professional photographers based on RAW images. RAW images are maintained natively throughout Aperture without any intermediate conversion process, and can be retouched using a suite of adjustment tools designed especially for photographers. UK employers say IT workforce needs more training

The latest research from e-skills UK, says that 57 per cent of employers believe their IT staff require additional skills, a jump of 11 per cent over the same survey last year. The survey also found that employers in London and the South East expected to lose up to 24,000 jobs over the next year. BT quietly launches GPRS

BT Cellnet has launched its consumer GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) service with handsets from Motorola. GPRS is the mid-point between GSM phones and the new, high-speed 3G phones due next year.
