UK online ink cartridge reseller Recharge has agreed to stop selling Epson-compatible cartridges after facing legal proceedings. PowerBooks get combo across the range

Apple has upgraded its PowerBook range with DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drives standard across all models including the new Ultimate configuration. The 667MHz Ultimate model has 1Gb of RAM and a 48Gb hard disk in addition to the usual PowerBook specs such as a built-in AirPort card for wireless connectivity. As well as gaining the combo drive, Apple's other PowerBook models have had their RAM doubled so the 550MHz Fast model now has 256Mb as standard and the 667MHz Faster has 512Mb. ...more

There's a new version of Creative's Jukebox Zen Xtra portable music player. The existing 60GB model now has a younger brother with a capacity of 30GB. Apple announces Final Cut Pro 4

Apple has announced the release of Final Cut Pro 4, a 'major' upgrade of its editing software for film, HD, SD and DV. Final Cut Pro 4 has more than 300 new features including RT Extreme, for real-time compositing and effects, powerful new interface customization tools, new high-quality 8- and 10-bit uncompressed formats and for the first time in an editing system costing less than $100,000, full 32-bit floating point per channel video processing. BlackBerry flavour for Motorola mobiles

Motorola is the latest mobile phone company looking to benefit from the success of the BlackBerry mobile communications platform. It has signed an agreement with BlackBerry maker Research In Motion, that will see BlackBerry services such as push email available on some phone models.
