It's not news that Microsoft and Sony don't make money on console hardware, but iSupply have provided the exact figures in a 'teardown' analysis of the latest Xbox 360 console. The research company calculates that Microsoft does indeed price the product well below the total bill-of-material (BOM) costs of the components. Storm worm wreaks havoc over weekend

Security company F-Secure report says that the gang which launched a computer virus trading on people's interest in the storms that hit Europe last week has issued more malware over the weekend. First discovered on Friday, Storm Worm was spammed out over the weekend and hit Europe and the east coast of the US particularly hard. Since then, a new Trojan along with numerous variants have been spammed out in emails that make outrageous claims based on current news trends, such as missiles shooting down satellites, or that Saddam Hussein has been seen alive. ...more

Apple has announced its first gigahertz Power Mac and the world's first computer with nVIDIA's new GeForce 4 MX graphics card. A new dual-processor 1GHz Power Mac tops a revamped range which includes single-processor 933MHz and 800MHz models.
