Intel has ceased development of a major new flat screen technology that it saw replacing LCDs in large screen TVs and monitors. British Airways is testing a system that will allow its passengers to surf the Net from the comfort of their seats. The airline wants to be the first company to offer in-flight Internet and e-mail access and, thanks to advances in telecommunications, such a system could be in place by 2002.
