Microsoft shuts Windows 95

Microsoft is no longer issuing licences to offer its successful Windows 95 OS with PCs, in a bid to push Windows 2000 into wider use among businesses and individuals. SunnComm changes its DRM ways

Chastised copyright-protection technology company SunnComm has made public its efforts to fix security concerns over its MediaMax software. The company's announcement is in response to an open letter from the Electronic Frontier Foundation calling on it to be more transparent and to ensure consumers' rights and security are not considered the collateral damage associated with protecting copyright content. ASA provides new definition of 'unlimited' broadband

The Advertising Standards Authority appears to have established a new definition of 'unlimited', after it approved Vodafone's use of the word to describe an Internet access package with a fair usage capacity of just 1GB. The mobile phone network operator had claimed in a brochure advertising its Vodafone Data Unlimited service that the amount of data that could be downloaded each month was 'unlimited', before qualifying it by stating: 'fair usage of 1GB applies'.
